व्र॒ता ते॑ अग्ने मह॒तो म॒हानि॒ तव॒ क्रत्वा॒ रोद॑सी॒ आ त॑तन्थ । त्वं दू॒तो अ॑भवो॒ जाय॑मान॒स्त्वं ने॒ता वृ॑षभ चर्षणी॒नाम्
vratā te agne mahato mahāni tava kratvā rodasī ā tatantha tvaṃ dūto abhavo jāyamānastvaṃ netā vṛṣabha carṣaṇīnām
Your ordinances, Agni, are the great and mighty rites; in the dawning you extend them. You became a messenger born, rising; you are leader of the bull, of chariot-pulled hosts.
Great, Agni, are the deeds of you the mighty one; you have spread abroad by your power the heaven and earth; you have been the messenger (of the gods); as soon as begotten you have become the leader of men.
Great are the deeds of thee, the Great, O Agni: thou by thy power hast spread out earth and heaven. As soon as thou wast born thou wast an envoy, thou, Mighty One, was Leader of the people.
