dhenuḥ pratnasya kāmyaṃ duhānāntaḥ putraścarati dakṣiṇāyāḥ ā dyotaniṃ vahati śubhrayāmoṣasaḥ stomo aśvināvajīgaḥ
The desired cow of effort, yielding milk within, the son tends toward the right. She bears the bright light of dawn; the hymn and the Aśvins have come to herd her.
The cow (the dawn) yields the desired milk to the ancient (Agni); the son of the south passes within (the firmament); the bright-houred (day) brings the illuminative (sun); the praiser awakes (to glorify) the Aśvins preceding the dawn.
THE Ancient's Milch-cow yields the things we long for: the Son of Daksina travels between them. She with the splendid chariot brings refulgence. The praise of Usas hath awoke the Asvins.
