या ते॑ जि॒ह्वा मधु॑मती सुमे॒धा अग्ने॑ दे॒वेषू॒च्यत॑ उरू॒ची । तये॒ह विश्वा॒ँ अव॑से॒ यज॑त्रा॒ना सा॑दय पा॒यया॑ चा॒ मधू॑नि
yā te jihvā madhumatī sumedhā agne deveṣūcyata urūcī tayeha viśvām̐ avase yajatrānā sādaya pāyayā cā madhūni
That tongue of yours, rich in honey, O Agni, proclaimed in the gods’ assembly the broad-chested. By it all offerings were set upon the priests; satisfy them with libations and sweet meads.
With your wide-spreading tongue, Agni, sweet and intelligent, which is renowned amongst the gods, bring hither all the adorable deities for our protection, and give them to drink of the sweet (libations).
Agni, thy meath-sweet tongue that tastes fair viands, which among Gods is called the far-extended,- Therewith make all the Holy Odes be seated here for our help, and feed them with sweet juices.
