Three are the highest, threefold in radiance, the gleaming ones—three kings overcome the fiend’s might. The stewards of ṛta, the hard-to-reach splendors, let there be three openings of heaven; may the gods be present at the dawns.
Three are the excellent uninjurable bright regions, three scions of the powerful (year) are shining; practisers of truth, quick moving, of surpassing radiance; may the deities be present thrice daily at the sacrifice.
Three are the bright realms, best, beyond attainment, and three, the Asura's Heroes, rule as Sovrans, Holy and vigorous, never to be injured. Thrice may the Gods from heaven attend our synod.
