śaṃsāvādhvaryo prati me gṛṇīhīndrāya vāhaḥ kṛṇavāva juṣṭam edaṃ barhiryajamānasya sīdāthā ca bhūdukthamindrāya śastam
Accept the song I sing for Indra, O charioteer; make the reciter’s praise fitting. This external chant of the sacrificer is sharpened and equipped as a weapon for Indra.
Adhvaryu, let us two offer praise; do you concur with me; let us address plural asing praise to Indra; sit down, Indra, on the sacred grass (prepared by) the instrumental tutor of the rite; and may our commendations be most acceptable to Indra.
Adhvaryu, sing we both; sing thou in answer: make we a laud acceptable to Indra. Upon this sacrificer's grass he seated: to Indra shall our eulogy be uttered.
