Agni turned toward the Rudras and the Maruts, awakening; the seer is the seat of poets. Born widely, honored by the gods, the fire bears away darkness with the sages’ rite.
The sagacious Agni, cognizant of the dawn, is awakened to (follow) the paths of the sages; the luminous Vahni, kindled by the devout, has thrown open the gates of darkness.
AGNI who shines against the Dawns is wakened. The holy Singer who precedes the sages. With far-spread lustre, kindled by the pious, the Priest hath thrown both gates of darkness open.
