jyotirvṛṇīta tamaso vijānannāre syāma duritādabhīke imā giraḥ somapāḥ somavṛddha juṣasvendra purutamasya kāroḥ
Choose the light, knowing not the darkness, O men; be free from dread. These mountains, drinkers of Soma, O Indra, have grown—praise their manifold heroism for the mighty one’s work.
The discriminating (Indra) has separated the light from the darkness; may we, removed afar from evil, be ever in security; Indra, drinker of the Soma, who is nurished by Soma, be plural ased with these praises of your worshipper who is the discomfiter of his foes.
He took the light, discerning it from darkness: may we be far removed from all misfortune. These songs, O Soma-drinker, cheered by Soma, Indra, accept from thy most zealous poet.
