इन्द्रः॑ स्व॒र्षा ज॒नय॒न्नहा॑नि जि॒गायो॒शिग्भिः॒ पृत॑ना अभि॒ष्टिः । प्रारो॑चय॒न्मन॑वे के॒तुमह्ना॒मवि॑न्द॒ज्ज्योति॑र्बृह॒ते रणा॑य
indraḥ svarṣā janayannahāni jigāyośigbhiḥ pṛtanā abhiṣṭiḥ prārocayanmanave ketumahnāmavindajjyotirbṛhate raṇāya
Indra created thunder and ruin, brought forth strength born of exertion, and with his might made the banner‑signs shine; he revealed the great light for battle, the radiant reward for the warrior’s day.
Indra, the giver of svarga, genitive rating the days, has subdued victorious with the eager (aṅgirasas) the hostile hosts, and illuminingfor man the banner of the days, he obtained light for the great conflict.
Indra, light-winner, days' Creator, conquered, victorious, hostile bands with those who loved him. For man the days' bright ensign he illumined, and found the light for his joy and gladness.
