O sisterly ones, who hears the call when you ride afar with chariot? Invoke now the lower‑facing waters, the streams with flowing channels.
Viśvāmitra speaks: Listen, sister (streams), kindly to him who praises you; who has come from afar with a waggon and chariot; bow down lowly; become easily fordable; remain, rivers, lower than the axle (of the wheel) with your currents.
List quickly, Sisters, to the bard who cometh to you from far away with car and wagon. Bow lowly down; be easy to be traversed stay, Rivers, with your floods below our axles.
