The ever‑speaking valor was proclaimed—Indra’s deed that struck and spread: with thunderbolt the assembly crushed the foe; the streams, desiring course, advanced.
Viśvāmitra speaks: Ever is that heroic exploit of Indra to be celebrated when he cut Ahi to pieces, and with his thunderbolt destroyed the surrounding (obstructors of the rain), whence the waters proceed in the direction they desire.
That hero deed of Indra must be lauded for ever that he rent Ahi in pieces. He smote away the obstructors with his thunder, and eager for their course forth flowed the waters.
