Indra sped forth; to the Hari-brethren fling thy bolt that it may slay the foemen. Strike eastward and westward, make the universe true; let thy broad might be established.
Let (your car), Indra, drawn by your horses (rush) downwards (upon the asuras); let your destroying thunder-bolt fall upon your enemies; slay those that assail in front or in rear, or that fly (from the combat); make the universe (the abode of) truth; (let such power) be concentrated in you.
Forthwith thy Bay steeds down the steep, O Indra, forth, crushing foemen, go thy bolt of thunder! Slay those who meet thee, those who flee, who follow: make all thy promise true; be all completed.
