Indra, mighty with good steeds, swift as a young tree, great-ranged, the turtle among the fierce; when fierce disaster struck mortals, where, O mighty Bull, were your heroic deeds?
Showerer (of benefits), who are Indra, the wearer of the helmet, the professor of opulence, the conveyor (of men beyond the evil), the leader of the numerous troops (of the Maruts), the achiever of many great deeds, the devastation of hostile (regions), the terror of your foes, where are those heroic deeds (which you have performed) against the mortal (asuras) when opposed (by them in battle).
Fair cheeks hath Indra, Maghavan, the Victor, Lord of a great host, Stormer, strong in action. What once thou didst in might when mortals vexed thee,-where now, O Bull, are those thy hero exploits?
