Indra made the strong bonds for the sacrificial act; he teaches the friendly ones. Ill-devising foes, remote from mortals, severed from allies, the enemies were slain by them.
Indra, be firm, for there are obstructors of your path; secure to the worshipper and his friends (the means of completing) the sacrifice; mortal enemies bearing bows, armed with mischievous weapons, and coming with evil intent, must be destroyed (by you).
Barring the way they come. Be firm, O Indra; aid friends to sacrifice and him who singeth. These must be slain by thee, malignant mortals, armed with ill arts, our quiverbearing foemen.
