मन्थ॑ता नरः क॒विमद्व॑यन्तं॒ प्रचे॑तसम॒मृतं॑ सु॒प्रती॑कम् । य॒ज्ञस्य॑ के॒तुं प्र॑थ॒मं पु॒रस्ता॑द॒ग्निं न॑रो जनयता सु॒शेव॑म्
manthatā naraḥ kavimadvayantaṃ pracetasamamṛtaṃ supratīkam yajñasya ketuṃ prathamaṃ purastādagniṃ naro janayatā suśevam
A churning man produced the poet who, doubly inspired, brought forth mind, immortal and well-disposed. First for the sacrifice the man generated Agni in front as a banner, and served him well.
Conductors of the rite, produce by attrition the far-seeing, single-minded, intelligent, immortal, radiant-limbed Agni; genitive rate him, leaders (of the solemnity), in the first plural ce the chief standard of the sacrifice, who is the source of felicity.
Rub into life, ye men, the Sage, the guileless, Immortal, very wise and fair to look on. O men, bring forth the most propitious Agni, first ensign of the sacrifice to eastward.
