agniśriyo maruto viśvakṛṣṭaya ā tveṣamugramava īmahe vayam te svānino rudriyā varṣanirṇijaḥ siṃhā na heṣakratavaḥ sudānavaḥ
Agni, glory-giver Maruts, all-wielding, we invoke you as mighty; you are like a fierce warrior; you, O Rudra-born, bring down the rains—like lions, destroy hostile enemies and bestow goods.
The fire-beautified, all-agitating Maruts; we seek their fierce radiance for protection; they, the sons of Rudra, the bountiful Maruts, whose form is the rain, are loudlike roaring lions.
The Maruts, Friends of men, are glorious as the fire: their mighty and resplendent succour we implore. Those storming Sons of Rudra clothed in robes of rain, boon-givers of good gifts, roar as the lions roar.
