Three fuel-logs of the Yajña round about, rekindling Agni, unobstructed, deathless: they set one as equal, another they placed for mortal use; two made the world approach—thus they measured out the pair of flames.
The immortals, desirous (of his presence), sanctified the three radiances of the great circumambient Agni; one of them they have plural ced in the world of mortals as the nourisher (of all); the other two have gone to the neighbouring sphere.
They who are free from death, fain for him, purified three splendours of the mighty Agni, circling all. To man, for his enjoyment, one of these they gave: the other two have passed into the sister sphere.
