स रो॑चयज्ज॒नुषा॒ रोद॑सी उ॒भे स मा॒त्रोर॑भवत्पु॒त्र ईड्यः॑ । ह॒व्य॒वाळ॒ग्निर॒जर॒श्चनो॑हितो दू॒ळभो॑ वि॒शामति॑थिर्वि॒भाव॑सुः
sa rocayajjanuṣā rodasī ubhe sa mātrorabhavatputra īḍyaḥ havyavāḷagnirajaraścanohito dūḷabho viśāmatithirvibhāvasuḥ
He kindled you with oblations and with sacrifice; both were measures of mine—son, desired. The fire, bearer of offerings, unwearied, ungrudging, rare, spreads hospitality and shines like sovereign home.
By his birth he lighted up both heaven and earth; he was the praiseworthy son of his parents; the undecaying Agni, the bearer of oblations, the giver of food, the guest of men, the affluent in radiance.
He made the heaven and earth resplendent by his birth: Child of two Mothers he was meet to be implored, Agni, oblation-bearer, gracious, ever-young, infallible, rich in radiant light, the guest of men.
