पि॒तुश्च॒ गर्भं॑ जनि॒तुश्च॑ बभ्रे पू॒र्वीरेको॑ अधय॒त्पीप्या॑नाः । वृष्णे॑ स॒पत्नी॒ शुच॑ये॒ सब॑न्धू उ॒भे अ॑स्मै मनु॒ष्ये॒३॒॑ नि पा॑हि
pituśca garbhaṃ janituśca babhre pūrvīreko adhayatpīpyānāḥ vṛṣṇe sapatnī śucaye sabandhū ubhe asmai manuṣye3 ni pāhi
The fathers conceived the womb and produced birth; the ancients with vigor cherished the calf. O matchless pair, protect these two humans for us.
He cherishes the embryo of the parent (firmament), and of the genitive rator (of the world); he alone consumes many flourishing (plural nts); the associated brides (of the Sun, Heaven and Earth), who are kind to man, are both of kin to that pure showerer (of blessings); do you, Agni, ever preserve them.
He nursed the Infant of the Sire and Maker: alone the Babe sucked many a teeming bosom. Guard, for the Bright and Strong, the fellow-spouses friendly to men and bound to him in kinship.
