अ॒स्य र॒ण्वा स्वस्ये॑व पु॒ष्टिः संदृ॑ष्टिरस्य हिया॒नस्य॒ दक्षोः॑ । वि यो भरि॑भ्र॒दोष॑धीषु जि॒ह्वामत्यो॒ न रथ्यो॑ दोधवीति॒ वारा॑न्
asya raṇvā svasyeva puṣṭiḥ saṃdṛṣṭirasya hiyānasya dakṣoḥ vi yo bharibhradoṣadhīṣu jihvāmatyo na rathyo dodhavīti vārān
His own strength, his nourishment, his sight, his mind and skill are his. He who bears burdens not by fault, the tongue that transcends in sacred herbs—he does not rush like a chariot; the rivers stream.
The cherishing of Agni is as agreeable as (the cherishing) of one's self; (plural asant) is his appearance, when spreading abroad, and consuming (the fuel); he brandishes his flame among the bushes, as a chariot-horse lashes with his tail.
Sweet is his growth as of one's own possessions; his look when rushing fain to burn is lovely. He darts his tongue forth, like a harnessed courser who shakes his flowing tail, among the bushes.
