अ॒पां नपा॒दा ह्यस्था॑दु॒पस्थं॑ जि॒ह्माना॑मू॒र्ध्वो वि॒द्युतं॒ वसा॑नः । तस्य॒ ज्येष्ठं॑ महि॒मानं॒ वह॑न्ती॒र्हिर॑ण्यवर्णाः॒ परि॑ यन्ति य॒ह्वीः
apāṃ napādā hyasthādupasthaṃ jihmānāmūrdhvo vidyutaṃ vasānaḥ tasya jyeṣṭhaṃ mahimānaṃ vahantīrhiraṇyavarṇāḥ pari yanti yahvīḥ
The feet of the waters spread upward like lightning on their dwelling; their elder, splendid in greatness, the golden‑hued ones travel around — the ṛtvīs (singers) accompany them.
The grandson of the waters has ascended the firmament above (the region) of the tortuously-moving (clouds), arrayed in lightning; the broad and golden-coloured (rivers) spread around, bearing (to all quarters) his exceeding glory.
The Waters' Son hath risen, and clothed in lightning ascended up unto the curled cloud's bosom; And bearing with them his supremest glory the Youthful Ones, gold-coloured, move around him.
