त्वं नो॑ गो॒पाः प॑थि॒कृद्वि॑चक्ष॒णस्तव॑ व्र॒ताय॑ म॒तिभि॑र्जरामहे । बृह॑स्पते॒ यो नो॑ अ॒भि ह्वरो॑ द॒धे स्वा तं म॑र्मर्तु दु॒च्छुना॒ हर॑स्वती
tvaṃ no gopāḥ pathikṛdvicakṣaṇastava vratāya matibhirjarāmahe bṛhaspate yo no abhi hvaro dadhe svā taṃ marmartu ducchunā harasvatī
You are our herdsman, discerning, maker of vows; with your counsels we grow old. Brihaspati, who offered sacrifice to us, protect that secret from hostile ruin.
You, Bṛhaspati, are our protector and the guide of (our) path; (you are) the discerner (of all things); we worship with praises for your adoration; may his own precipitate malice involve him (in destruction) who practises deceit against us.
Thou art our keeper, wise, preparer of our paths: we, for thy service, sing to thee with hymns of praise. Brhaspati, whoever lays a snare for us, him may his evil fate, precipitate, destroy.
