अध्व॑र्यवो॒ यो अ॒पो व॑व्रि॒वांसं॑ वृ॒त्रं ज॒घाना॒शन्ये॑व वृ॒क्षम् । तस्मा॑ ए॒तं भ॑रत तद्व॒शाय॑ँ ए॒ष इन्द्रो॑ अर्हति पी॒तिम॑स्य
adhvaryavo yo apo vavrivāṃsaṃ vṛtraṃ jaghānāśanyeva vṛkṣam tasmā etaṃ bharata tadvaśāyam̐ eṣa indro arhati pītimasya
The Adhvaryu who made the waters flow and smote Vritra, who cleft the mountain like a tree — therefore bear this draught under his control; Indra is worthy of this drink.
Priests, offer the libation to him who slew the rain-arresting Vṛtra, as (he strikes down) a tree with (his) thunderbolt; to him who desires it; and Indra is worthy of (Soma).
Ye ministers, to him who with the lightning smote, like a tree, the rain-withholding Vrtra- Bring it to him, him who is fain to taste it, a draught of this which Indra here deserveth.
