yaṃ krandasī saṃyatī vihvayete pare'vara ubhayā amitrāḥ samānaṃ cidrathamātasthivāṃsā nānā havete sa janāsa indraḥ
He whom wailing unites and whom the roaring summons, who conquers both foes — equal in fame, whose many-voiced hymns rise from the breast: that Indra I know.
Whom (two hosts), calling and mutually encountering, call upon; whom both adversaries, high and low, (appeal to); whom two (charioteers), standing in the same car, severally invoke; he, men, is Indra.
To whom two armies cry in close encounter, both enemies, the stronger and the weaker; Whom two invoke upon one chariot mounted, each for himself, He, O ye men, is Indra.
