yo jāta eva prathamo manasvāndevo devānkratunā paryabhūṣat yasya śuṣmādrodasī abhyasetāṃ nṛmṇasya mahnā sa janāsa indraḥ
He who was born first among mindful ones, the god adorned the gods with sacrifice. For him who practised the dawns of the lesser light, the great man became known—he is Indra.
He, who as soon as born,is the first (of the deities); who has done honour to the gods by his exploits; he, at whose might heaven and earth are alarmed, and (who is known) by the greatness of his strength, he, men, is Indra.
HE who, just born, chief God of lofty spirit by power and might became the Gods' protector, Before whose breath through greatness of his valour the two worlds trembled, He, O men, is Indra.
