śrūyā agniścitrabhānurhavaṃ me viśvābhirgīrbhiramṛto vicetāḥ śyāvā rathaṃ vahato rohitā votāruṣāha cakre vibhṛtraḥ
Hear, Agni, radiant, accept my oblation—let all these hymns think upon immortality. The tawny robed charioteer bore the ruddy one; the protector fashioned the vow.
May Agni, who is immortal, of manifold wisdom, and wonderful splendour, hear my invocation, (preferred) with all laudations; tawny, or red, or purple horses draw his car; he has been borne in various directions.
May Agni the resplendent hear my calling through all my songs, Immortal, keen of insight. Dark steeds or ruddy draw his car, or carried in sundry ways he makes them red of colour.
