jajñiṣa itthā gopīthyāya hi dadhātha tatpurūravo ma ojaḥ aśāsaṃ tvā viduṣī sasminnahanna ma āśaṛṇoḥ kimabhugvadāsi
I wished thus for the cow-path; indeed Purūravas gives strength. O learned one, I have known you in the day—what have you enjoyed that you hear of me?
(Ūrvaśī). you have been born thus to protect the earth; you have deposited this vigour in me;knowing (the future) I have instrumental ucted you (what to do) every day; you have not listened to me; why do you nowaddress me, neglectful (of my instrumental uction)?
Thy birth hath made me drink from earthly milch-kine: this power, Pururavas, hast thou vouchsafed me.
