ए॒ते व॑दन्ति श॒तव॑त्स॒हस्र॑वद॒भि क्र॑न्दन्ति॒ हरि॑तेभिरा॒सभिः॑ । वि॒ष्ट्वी ग्रावा॑णः सु॒कृतः॑ सुकृ॒त्यया॒ होतु॑श्चि॒त्पूर्वे॑ हवि॒रद्य॑माशत
ete vadanti śatavatsahasravadabhi krandanti haritebhirāsabhiḥ viṣṭvī grāvāṇaḥ sukṛtaḥ sukṛtyayā hotuścitpūrve haviradyamāśata
These speak like hundreds, like thousands; they cry aloud with green choirs. The pasture-moving herds are well-made, with righteous works may the oblation be—let the ancient hymn of the sacrificer be.
They roar like a hundred, like a thousand (men); they cry aloud with green-tinted faces; obtaining thesacrifice, the pious stones through their piety partake of the sacrificial food, even before (Agni), the invoker (ofthe gods).
They speak out like a hundred, like a thousand men: they cry aloud to us with their green-tinted mouths, While, pious Stones, they ply their task with piety, and, even before the Hotar, taste the offered food.
