They both have wrought this invocation and made right the law: Agni, the establisher of the rite. The priest no longer should be made weak; the chief minister does not abase the man who fell beneath his anger.

Both (men and gods) have made Agni the speedy protector, the upholder of duty, the accomplisher ofthe sacrifice; they have recourse to him (who is) vast as the sun, the precursor of the dawn, the son of thebrilliant (Vāyu).

Him, Agni, Gods and men have made their chief support, who drinks the fatness and completes the sacrifice. With kisses they caress the Grandson of the Red, like the swift ray of light, the Household Priest of Dawn.
