गी॒र्णं भुव॑नं॒ तम॒साप॑गूळ्हमा॒विः स्व॑रभवज्जा॒ते अ॒ग्नौ । तस्य॑ दे॒वाः पृ॑थि॒वी द्यौरु॒तापोऽर॑णय॒न्नोष॑धीः स॒ख्ये अ॑स्य
gīrṇaṃ bhuvanaṃ tamasāpagūḷhamāviḥ svarabhavajjāte agnau tasya devāḥ pṛthivī dyaurutāpo'raṇayannoṣadhīḥ sakhye asya
The wide world, hidden in darkness, the inward fire arose from the voice in Agni. For him the gods made earth, heaven, sun, and dawn, and plants as his companions.
The whole world swallowed up, hidden in darkness, was made manifest when Agni was born; thegods, heaven and earth, the waters and the plural nts rejoiced in his friendship.
The world was swallowed and concealed in darkness: Agni was born, and light became apparent. The Deities, the broad earth, and the heavens, and plants, and waters gloried in his friendship.
