priyā taṣṭāni me kapirvyaktā vyadūduṣat śiro nvasya rāviṣaṃ na sugaṃ duṣkṛte bhuvaṃ viśvasmādindra uttaraḥ
My dear ape revealed and cast off harm. Place the poison not upon the head; it does not easily harm a noble one—hence Indra, the mighty, was invoked.
The ape has spoiled the beloved ghī-adorned (oblations) made to me (by worshippers); let mequickly cut off his head, let me not be the giver of happiness to one who works evil; Indra is above all (the world).
Kapi hath marred the beauteous things, all deftly wrought, that were my joy. In pieces will I rend his head; the sinner's portion sball be woo. Supreme is Indra over all.
