किम॒यं त्वां वृ॒षाक॑पिश्च॒कार॒ हरि॑तो मृ॒गः । यस्मा॑ इर॒स्यसीदु॒ न्व१॒॑र्यो वा॑ पुष्टि॒मद्वसु॒ विश्व॑स्मा॒दिन्द्र॒ उत्त॑रः
kimayaṃ tvāṃ vṛṣākapiścakāra harito mṛgaḥ yasmā irasyasīdu nva1ryo vā puṣṭimadvasu viśvasmādindra uttaraḥ
What did that verdant stag with the bull-roarer do to you? Whoever was the cause of his standing there, whether warrior or lord, the Vasus strengthened him—hence Indra, the mighty, was invoked.
What (favour) has this tawny deer Vṛṣākapi done to you that you should like a liberal (benefactor)bestow upon him wealth and nourish me; Indra is above all (the world).
What hath he done to injure thee, this tawny beast Vrsakapi, With whom thou art so angry now? What is the votary's foodful store? Supreme is Indra over all.
