tṛṣṭametatkaṭukametadapāṣṭhavadviṣavannaitadattave sūryāṃ yo brahmā vidyātsa idvādhūyamarhati
This is the bitter, sharp, throat-like, poisonous, obstructive giving not to be given. He who knows the Sun as Brahman deserves this curse.
This (garment) is inflaming, it is pungent; it is like stale Soma; it is like poison; it is not fit to eat; theBrāhmaṇa, who knows Sūrya, verily desires the bridal (garment).
Pungent is this, and bitter this, filled, as it were, with arrow-barbs, Empoisoned and.not fit for use. The Brahman who knows Surya well deserves the garment of the bride.
