प्र मा॒तुः प्र॑त॒रं गुह्य॑मि॒च्छन्कु॑मा॒रो न वी॒रुधः॑ सर्पदु॒र्वीः । स॒सं न प॒क्वम॑विदच्छु॒चन्तं॑ रिरि॒ह्वांसं॑ रि॒प उ॒पस्थे॑ अ॒न्तः
pra mātuḥ prataraṃ guhyamicchankumāro na vīrudhaḥ sarpadurvīḥ sasaṃ na pakvamavidacchucantaṃ ririhvāṃsaṃ ripa upasthe antaḥ
The mother asks early in secret, the youth is not a brave serpent of wickedness. The pair not ripe cut away the impure; the howling foe stood near the herd within.
Longing for the abundant creepers of the maternal (earth, longing for) their more excellent concealed(root), he creeps like a child; he has found the tree shining like ripe grain, upon the lap of tthe earth, tasting (theether).
Seeking, as 'twere, his Mother's secret bosom, he, like a child, creeps on through wide-spread bushes. One he finds glowing like hot food made ready, and kissing deep within the earth's recmes.
