भवा॑ द्यु॒म्नी वा॑ध्र्यश्वो॒त गो॒पा मा त्वा॑ तारीद॒भिमा॑ति॒र्जना॑नाम् । शूर॑ इव धृ॒ष्णुश्च्यव॑नः सुमि॒त्रः प्र नु वो॑चं॒ वाध्र्य॑श्वस्य॒ नाम॑
bhavā dyumnī vādhryaśvota gopā mā tvā tārīdabhimātirjanānām śūra iva dhṛṣṇuścyavanaḥ sumitraḥ pra nu vocaṃ vādhryaśvasya nāma
Be thou, O sky or stallion, guardian of kine; do not let the roaring flood afflict the people. Like a hero, bold and swift, Mitra announce to us the name of the steed Vadhryashva.
Kinsman of Vadhryaśva, be the possessor of food and our protector; let no one assail you, (for youare) the overcomer of men; like a resolute warrior (you are) the overthrower (of enemies); I, Sumitra, celebratethe names of the kinsmen of Vadhyaśva.
Be splendid, guard us Kinsman of Vadhryasva: let not the enmity of men o'ercome thee, Like the bold hero Cyavana, I Sumitra tell forth the title of Vadhryaiva's Kinsman.
