यो अद॑धा॒ज्ज्योति॑षि॒ ज्योति॑र॒न्तर्यो असृ॑ज॒न्मधु॑ना॒ सं मधू॑नि । अध॑ प्रि॒यं शू॒षमिन्द्रा॑य॒ मन्म॑ ब्रह्म॒कृतो॑ बृ॒हदु॑क्थादवाचि
yo adadhājjyotiṣi jyotirantaryo asṛjanmadhunā saṃ madhūni adha priyaṃ śūṣamindrāya manma brahmakṛto bṛhadukthādavāci
He who placed light into the lights fashioned sweetness from the sweet—he made across the bright honey. Dear to the mighty, praised Indra, the maker of the sacred, spoke the great hymn.
To that Indra, who has deposited the light in luminous bodies, who has flavoured sweet things withsweetness, this acceptable invigorating praise has been recited by Bṛhaduktha, the author of the prayer.
To him who set the light in things of splendour, and with all sweetness blent essential sweetness, To Indra hath this welcome hymn that strengthens been uttered by the votary Brhaduktha.
