यदच॑रस्त॒न्वा॑ वावृधा॒नो बला॑नीन्द्र प्रब्रुवा॒णो जने॑षु । मा॒येत्सा ते॒ यानि॑ यु॒द्धान्या॒हुर्नाद्य शत्रुं॑ न॒नु पु॒रा वि॑वित्से
yadacarastanvā vāvṛdhāno balānīndra prabruvāṇo janeṣu māyetsā te yāni yuddhānyāhurnādya śatruṃ nanu purā vivitse
Whatever conduct strengthened the body, Indra declared among men: “Do not cause those wars of yours which were called by name; do not previously disclose the enemy.”
When you proceed, Indra, increasing in form, and proclaiming your prowess among mankind, false isthat your (wandering), false the combats which you have narrated; you (find) now no enemy (to attack), did youformerly find one? person n you have genitive rated at once both mother and father (or earth and heaven)?
When thou wast roaming, waxen strong in body, telling thy might, Indra, among the people, All that men called thy battles was illusion: no foe hast thou to-day, nor erst hast found one.
