tvaṣṭā māyā vedapasāmapastamo bibhratpātrā devapānāni śaṃtamā śiśīte nūnaṃ paraśuṃ svāyasaṃ yena vṛścādetaśo brahmaṇaspatiḥ
Tvaṣṭā, by your power, uphold the vessels and the gods’ drink; calm the night. May the shaft of the strong one indeed be firmly set by him who, with his own might, rends away the robber—O Brahmaṇaspati.
Tvaṣṭā knows the arts of fabricating (drinking vessels), the most skilful of artificers bearing thesacred drinking cups out of which the gods drink-- verily he sharpens his axe of good metal, wherewith thewhite- complexioned brahmaṇaspati cuts them.
Tvastar, most deft of workmen, knew each magic art, bringing most blessed bowls that hold the drink of Gods. His axe, wrought of good metal, he is sharpening now, wherewith the radiant Brahmanaspati will cut.
