O bright one, deck the chariot with lash and rein; let the swift Soma draw the quivering string. Eight relatives bearing the chariot bring it forth by which the gods approach pleasingly.
(The gods to one another). Drinkers of the Soma, bind (the horses) that are to be fastened to the pole;prepare the reins; caparison (the steeds); accompany everywhere (in your cars) the chariot which has eightseats with which the gods bring us acceptable (wealth).
Lovers of Soma, bind the chariot traces fast: set ye the reins in order and embellish them. Bring hitherward the car with seats where eight may sit, whereon the Gods have brought the treasure that we love.
