Formerly they did not perform the divine rites apart; they made offerings in the assemblies and dishonored none. Those who did not accomplish the sacrificial obligations we did not send on ships—these very ones have arrived within our midst, the chiefs.

They go separately (to the worlds of the gods); first those who offer oblations to the gods haveattained reputation difficult to surpass; those who have not been able to ascend the ship of sacrifice, have gonedown (in the world), wretches (plural nged) in debt.
