May the slow-moving man, hard to win, place wealth, companion in valour, and speak true. May he make the sacred ford well-crossed, breathe freely, remain firm as lord of the ritual, and may perverse thought be slain.
Exulting, do you bestow riches, comprehending male progeny, in the house of my husband, on me,who desire to praise you; lords of waters, make the sacred ford good to drink; remove the tree that stands in theroad and the malevolent (enemy).
Even so, rejoicing in the dwelling-place of man, give hero sons and riches to the eloquent. Make a ford, Lords of splendour, where men well may drink: remove the spiteful tree-stump standing in the path.
