Great light you bear, perceptive and shining in our eyes. Rising mighty and widely effulgent, we living beings behold you, O Sun.
May we, enoying (long) life, day by day behold you, Sūrya, who glance over all things, invested withgreat lustre, radiant, giving joy to every eye, and rising above the vast and mighty (ocean).
Surya, may we live long and look upon thee still, thee, O Far-seeing One, bringing the glorious light, The radiant God, the spring of joy to every eye, as thou art mounting up o'er the high shining flood.
