शं नो॑ भव॒ चक्ष॑सा॒ शं नो॒ अह्ना॒ शं भा॒नुना॒ शं हि॒मा शं घृ॒णेन॑ । यथा॒ शमध्व॒ञ्छमस॑द्दुरो॒णे तत्सू॑र्य॒ द्रवि॑णं धेहि चि॒त्रम्
śaṃ no bhava cakṣasā śaṃ no ahnā śaṃ bhānunā śaṃ himā śaṃ ghṛṇena yathā śamadhvañchamasadduroṇe tatsūrya draviṇaṃ dhehi citram
May we be auspicious with sight, may we be auspicious with the day, auspicious by the radiant light, auspicious by the wholesome savor. As that which calms the storm calms the strife, grant, O Sun, varied wealth.
Be propitious to us with light; be propitious to us with sunshine; be propitious to us with warmth; bepropitious to us with frost; and grant us, Sūrya, various wealth, whereby we may prosper on the road and in thehouse.
Bless us with shine, bless us with perfect daylight, bless us with cold, with fervent heat and lustre. Bestow on us, O Surya, varied riches, to bless us in our home and when we travel.
