O friend, bring us honeyed Soma here, he indeed is the fulfiller of vows. He increased waters and fatness to the earth; men performed rites for the people and for the gifts.
(The worshippers) have poured out the vessel full of the sweet (Soma) (into the fire) for that Indra, forhe is true (to his promises) of wealth; Indra, the friend of man, (distinguished) by his actions, and his prowess, ismagnified throughout the expanse of the firmament.
They have poured out a bowl to him, to Indra, full of sweet juice, for faithful is his bounty. O'er earth's expanse hath he grown great by wisdom, the Friend of man, and by heroic exploits.
