mātre nu te sumite indra pūrvī dyaurmajmanā pṛthivī kāvyena varāya te ghṛtavantaḥ sutāsaḥ svādmanbhavantu pītaye madhūni
Only a measured praise to you, O Indra, before the heavens with stone, earth and crafted verses. Bestow to them the ghee-bearing sons; may they be pleasant to drink the meads.
By your overwhelming energy, Indra, the vast heaven and earth, the measurers (of all), have beenquickly constructed; may the Soma-libations mixed with ghī be acceptable (to you) who are most excellent; (maythe oblations be) sweet for your drinking.
Thine are two measures, Indra, wide-wellmeted, heaven for thy majesty, earth for thy wisdom. Here for thy choice are Somas mixed with butter: may the sweet meath be pleasant for thy drinking.
