When did mighty Indra from heaven make you a man endowed with thought? Mitra is not false like a lordly ox; companions gathered in food when intelligence was lacking.
When, Indra, (having partaken of) our oblation, and by what sacred rite, will you render menresembling you? When will you bring them to us? You, who are widely renowned, are to us like a true friend,(attentive) for our support, when the minds of all were (anxious) for food.
Indra, what fame hath one like thee mid heroes? With what plan wilt thou act? Why hast thou sought us? As a true Friend, Wide-Strider! to sustain us, since food absorbs the thought of each among us.
