त्वं तान्वृ॑त्र॒हत्ये॑ चोदयो॒ नॄन्का॑र्पा॒णे शू॑र वज्रिवः । गुहा॒ यदी॑ कवी॒नां वि॒शां नक्ष॑त्रशवसाम्
tvaṃ tānvṛtrahatye codayo nṝnkārpāṇe śūra vajrivaḥ guhā yadī kavīnāṃ viśāṃ nakṣatraśavasām
You urged them to slay Vṛtra and stirred men to brave deeds; bolt‑bearer, if hidden among poets are the hosts of stars, reveal them.
Hero, Indra, wielder of the thunderbolt, you have animated those chiefs (the Maruts) to the slaughterof Vṛtra in battle, when (you hear) the mystical (praises) of the sages, the worshippers praising the might of theconstellations.
Urge thou these heroes on to slay the enemy, brave Thunderer! in the fight with swords. Even when hid among the tribes of Sages numerous as stars.
