prathaśca yasya saprathaśca nāmānuṣṭubhasya haviṣo haviryat dhāturdyutānātsavituśca viṣṇo rathaṃtaramā jabhārā vasiṣṭhaḥ
He who first recites the name of the Anushtubh with oblation and sacrifice—May the giver of offerings, the knower of Savitr, and Vishnu, maker of the chariot's cross, be propitious; Vasiṣṭha rejoiced in the expiation.
Vasiṣṭha, whos (son) is Pratha by name, and whose (son) is Sapratha, has (with them) borne awayfrom Dhāta, and from the radiant Savitā, and from Viṣṇu, the rathantara portion of the oblation which isoffered with the anuṣṭup verse.
VASISTHA mastered the Rathantara, took it from radiant Dhatar, Savitar, and Visnu, Oblation, portion of fourfold oblation, known by the names of Saprathas and Prathas.
