When bow and hand were given to me — O mortal — for protection, for prowess and strength. Here you and we, brave ones, all competitive, victorious, let us overcome pride.
Taking his bow from the hand of the dead man, for the sake of our vigour, energy and strength, (I say)you are there; may we (who are) here, blessed with male offspring, overcome all the enemies who assail us.
From his dead hand I take the bow be carried, that it may be our power and might and glory. There art thou, there; and here with noble heroes may we o'ercome all hosts that fight against us.
