śrātaṃ manya ūdhani śrātamagnau suśrātaṃ manye tadṛtaṃ navīyaḥ mādhyaṃdinasya savanasya dadhnaḥ pibendra vajrinpurukṛjjuṣāṇaḥ
I consider the hymn proper, firmly placed in Agni, well-cultured; thus the new ones think so. At midday may the lordly Indra, wielder of thunder, drink the clarified juice mixed with oblations.
I consider (the oblation) as cooked in the udder (of the cow), I consider it cooked in the fire, I considerthis pure and fresh (oblation) well- cooked; Indra, wielder of the thunderbolt, doer of many deeds, drink wellpleased of the curd of the noon-day sacrifice.
Dressed in the udder and on fire, I fancy; well-dressed, I fancy, is this recent present. Drink, Indra, of the curd of noon's libation with favour, Thunderer, thou whose deeds are mighty.
