आ॒त्मा दे॒वानां॒ भुव॑नस्य॒ गर्भो॑ यथाव॒शं च॑रति दे॒व ए॒षः । घोषा॒ इद॑स्य शृण्विरे॒ न रू॒पं तस्मै॒ वाता॑य ह॒विषा॑ विधेम
ātmā devānāṃ bhuvanasya garbho yathāvaśaṃ carati deva eṣaḥ ghoṣā idasya śaṛṇvire na rūpaṃ tasmai vātāya haviṣā vidhema
The self is the gods’ womb of the world; as it wills the god moves. Hear its voice; it has no form — for it we set the oblation to the wind.
The soul of the gods, the germ of the world, this divinity moves according to his plural asure; his voicesare heard, his form is not (seen); let us worship that Vāta with oblations. nutritious life-sustaining (waters); Rudra, have compassion upon the food which has feet.
Germ of the world, the Deities' vital spirit, this God moves ever as his will inclines him. His voice is heard, his shape is ever viewless. Let us adore this Wind with our oblation.
